To the east is the Munchkin Country, a more largely populated area with large patches of leafy, deciduous trees. Then you would pass into the Winkie Country, full of flat, yellow plains. Amber waves of grain, so to speak. Following THAT is, of course, desert - which at the time, wasn't particularly deadly. In the middle of this is the Emerald City, which Dorothy is desperately making her way towards. Of course, if Oz is a reflection of the U.S., then that'd put the Emerald City more or less where Kansas is. Which is to say, Dorothy is on a journey HOME.<br /><br />Which is really a long-winded way of saying that I think Glinda's palace would be the Alamo.
