The 75th and the 70th anniversary versions used the same master and was too grainy and blurry for a blu-ray release. I won't buy it if quality is no better than last releases.Stephen Dobbinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16985446069013513752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18996311.post-19315430774226399342019-01-27T12:56:54.060-06:002019-01-27T12:56:54.060-06:00I've always wondered what the original "D...I've always wondered what the original "Dorothy's Delirium" sequence would look like if it had been used in the film. It shows an extended version of the cyclone approaching the farm before the house gets picked up and Dorothy's journey to OZ begins. It would be cool if the sequence could be inserted into the original film as an option. The same options could be used for the various other cuts made to the film, including the scarecrow dance, the Jitterbug song, return to Oz, etc, etc. I'm not sure if this would be possible but it has always been a cool idea to see how the original film was structured before being edited...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18996311.post-85325577060484134522019-01-13T10:56:06.953-06:002019-01-13T10:56:06.953-06:00The 3D version should definitely be released in th...The 3D version should definitely be released in theaters again for the anniversary. I saw it during the 75th anniversary and loved it. It is an amazing experience. I also agree that the extra's like cheaply made wristwatches are unnecessary on the box sets. And digital recreations of the characters are also unnecessary and cheap on the calendars and don't look nearly as good as the real photos of the film. The film was recently deemed the most influential film of all-time. Some many things about this film have been number one over the years in different categories, including video sales when video tapes were popular,DVD sales and the song Over the Rainbow which is number one on AFI's top songs from film.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09443750808630496648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18996311.post-6380651186771783732018-12-27T04:36:13.162-06:002018-12-27T04:36:13.162-06:00My fav movie of all time! Also it should return to network TV as a annual event. Putting it on cable took away the focus that this film deserves. And here's a new idea, for bonus material...how about a five minute documentary on the original carriage used in the city of Oz scenes. (Did you know, that the carriage was originally owned by Abraham Lincoln at the White House, during the Civil War)! Easy to film, and accomplish! How's that?
